Pathways To Employment

Pathways To Employment

Data#3 gives you the opportunity to inspire, transform and deliver the digital future.

Data#3 is passionate about supporting the ongoing development of our people and community. We believe that a great way to do this is by investing in opportunities and programs which support the early phases of ICT careers. Whether that is straight out of school, graduating from university, making a career change, or re-entering the workforce after a mid-career break, Data#3 is committed to supporting everyone, irrespective of their stage of life.

We offer a variety of pathways and opportunities through partnering with our vendors programs, apprenticeship centres, tertiary education providers and industry groups. These programs provide practical on-the-job experience in conjunction with various study arrangements.

By undertaking one of these programs, you will have the opportunity to learn, be engaged, and inspired to build your career at Data#3 and in the ICT industry.

Data#3 embraces diversity, inspires our people and grows with HEART. Join us on our journey to delivering the digital future.

MEGT & Microsoft Traineeship Program

In partnership with MEGT and Microsoft, Data#3 offers an opportunity for candidates to start their careers in ICT through a Traineeship Program.

Leading Australian apprenticeship provider, MEGT, is responsible for recruiting, screening, and employing trainees into the program. Once trainees commence, they will enter a two-year Traineeship Program that combines on-the-job and formal learning opportunities, enabling trainees to gain both real world work-experience while working towards industry-recognised Microsoft certifications, including a specialisation in cloud skills with future specialisations in development for data/AI and cyber security.

At the completion of the program, trainees will have acquired the skills they need to embark on their journey within the IT industry along with being awarded a Certificate IV in Information Technology.

By partnering with MEGT, Data#3 can spend more time developing each trainee to help ensure they reach their full potential while they complete their qualification. Data#3 is a company that grows with HEART and we pride ourselves in creating an environment where every employee feels valued.

Data#3 has run this program nationally for over two years and is proud to have placed several trainees into permanent positions within our company following the completion of their traineeship. We are committed to upskilling the next generation of ICT professionals. If you’d like to find out more about our Traineeship Program, click here.

“Data#3 has provided consistent support and encouragement towards my career development and studies. This has not only allowed me to progress both professionally as an employee and student, but as a determined and passionate individual who is enthusiastic to develop a better understanding within the workplace environment and ICT industry. I am confident that Data#3 will continue to aid my personal development in the ICT industry.”

“Since as long as I can remember ICT has been an interest of mine. It was only as I got to the end of my senior year that I realised the skills that I had developed through my enthusiasm for computers and software could be used in a business environment. When I graduated, I knew that the ICT industry was right for me, and the ICT Gateway to Industry Schools Project was an awesome opportunity to kickstart my career.”

4B Female Undergraduate IT Internship Program

Program Background

Data#3 is proud to partner with Cisco, in collaboration with Women in Digital (WID), and several leading Queensland universities to launch an initiative to honour the memory of our friend and colleague, Brenda Conroy.

The 4B program has been specifically created to honour one of our longest standing employees, Brenda Conroy. Brenda started with Data#3 back in 1985 and spent the early days of her career in a variety of roles, from logistics and warehousing to customer support and sales administration. Her dedication to both her peers and customers was unique and her influence and contribution to the business helped shape the company into the entity it is today.

Brenda tragically passed from a sudden illness in September of 2021, and in memory of the amazing life she led we hope to provide an opportunity for others to rise to the challenges and forge their own path as Brenda did.

How the program works

4B is a four-week immersive program designed for women who are currently pursuing their undergraduate studies in Information Technology. The program provides hands-on work experience across the Data#3 and Cisco offices, as well as career guidance from Women In Digital (WID).

As part of the program, interns will have the opportunity to attend team meetings with Sales and Services teams, observe IT professionals (such as system engineers and technical support staff) in action, receive career guidance and mentoring sessions, and gain exposure to support service teams in ICT businesses, including Digital Marketing, Legal Counsel, Human Resources, and Supply Chain.

Through these experiences, interns will gain first-hand insight into what it’s like to work in an ICT role. Data#3 is excited to continue facilitating the 4B program, as we believe it is another way we can support our people, both new and existing, to grow and live out their full potential.
