Back when I was finishing my master’s in IT, I never imagined I’d spend more than a decade at the same company, especially in an industry that moves as fast as tech. Yet here I am, close to my tenth year overall at Data#3, and still growing in ways I didn’t expect.
It’s been a journey of evolution, reflection, and rediscovery. I’ve worked with incredible people, learned from some of the best in the business, and most importantly, been part of helping our customers achieve their goals through technology. That’s what keeps me here.
My journey with Data#3 began shortly after completing my master’s in IT. I joined as a Customer Support Representative, my second job ever, and over the next five and a half years, I moved into account management roles, supporting customers in the government and education sectors.
Those years were filled with learning, growth, and real-world experience. One thing that stood out early was the level of exposure. I wasn’t just watching from the sidelines, I was in the room, learning from experienced teams and building relationships from day one. It’s the kind of experience that shapes your career early and stays with you long after.
Eventually, I stepped away from Data#3 to take on new challenges from a different angle. Working as a channel manager gave me a broader view of the industry. I got to see how different organisations operated, how they supported partners, and how their cultures compared.
Even from the outside, Data#3 stood out. I saw the structure, the support, and the consistency in how they showed up for their customers. I also stayed connected with former colleagues, many of whom had been with the company for over a decade. That spoke volumes. When I began to seriously consider the next chapter in my career, returning felt less like a step back and more like the next step forward.
I rejoined Data#3 in 2020 as an Account Executive in the Infrastructure Solutions team. This time, I had the opportunity to go deeper, focusing on a smaller set of enterprise customers and developing a more specialised skill set.
The transition was smoother than I expected. The people I had worked with during my first stint were still here. The leadership team was just as open and supportive. That sense of continuity, paired with new opportunities to stretch myself, made it easy to settle back in and hit the ground running.
What I appreciate most now is the clarity of purpose. I’m not just here to sell; I’m here to understand my customers’ needs, help them solve real problems, and contribute to their long-term success. That’s what makes the work meaningful.
If you ask me why I’ve come back, and stayed, my answer is simple: it’s the people and the culture. Data#3 has built something rare. This isn’t just a place to work; it’s a place to grow. There’s flexibility when you need it, support when it matters, and opportunities if you’re willing to put your hand up.
I’ve seen how the company looks after its people during times of uncertainty, whether it was during the pandemic or through the way it supports career progression. That kind of trust builds loyalty. It’s why so many people stick around. Some of my colleagues have been here 15 or 20 years, and that says a lot in this industry.
That level of experience doesn’t just benefit the team, it brings real value to our customers, too. They know they’re working with people who’ve seen the industry evolve, understand the challenges, and can offer deep expertise to help guide them on their technology journeys.
To anyone considering a future here, I’d say this: don’t just look for the right role. Look at the people, the track record, and the way the company shows up for its customers and its team.
For me, Data#3 has been more than a workplace. It’s been a place to find purpose, build confidence, and keep growing, on my terms.
I’ve seen what’s possible here, and I’m proud to be part of it (again).
