Data#3 Selected to Provide Whole-of-Government Cloud-Based Enterprise File Sharing and Collaboration Solution
January 22, 2018January, 22, 2018; Brisbane, Australia: Leading Australian technology provider, Data#3, has won a competitive public tender to create and manage a cloud-based file sharing and community collaboration solution for the Department of Finance (“The Department”).
Based on Microsoft Azure and Office 365, the new customised cloud service will replace the existing Govdex whole-of-government platform, which has amassed over 90,000 users since its establishment.

The new Govdex solution will help the department to achieve three key objectives;
- Enable greater interconnectivity, file sharing and collaboration between government agencies and organisations across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors,
- Deliver cost savings to participating agencies through coordinating government activity and economies of scale, and
- Provide a trusted environment for government to collaborate with internal and external parties.
The cloud service will provide a single point for government employees and industry partners to collaborate, allowing them to; share files, host discussion groups, manage tasks, conduct video broadcasts, run polls, translate messages in real-time, work with users worldwide and more.
