Data#3 Limited, one of Australia’s leading business technology solutions companies, today announced that it has raised an event record $20,000 for Women’s Legal Service Queensland at its recent Queensland Charity Golf Day.
The official cheque was presented to Women’s Legal Service Queensland at their Annerley offices on Friday, 7th November.
Women’s Legal Service Queensland provides free legal and welfare assistance to Queensland women and their children who experience domestic violence and complex family law matters.
More than 140 customers, vendor partners and staff enjoyed a round of golf at Brisbane’s Indooroopilly Golf Course on October 10, 2014 and the day was hosted by Pat Welsh (Seven News). With the generous help of sponsors, on-course donations and a post-event auction, Data#3 was successful in raising an incredible $20,000 to donate to Woman’s Legal Service Queensland – the highest amount raised for a beneficiary over the history of the event.
Data#3 Group General Manager, Laurence Baynham said that the company has a long history of engaging with and supporting charitable organisations within the Australian community.
“Over the past 11 years, our Charity Golf Day has raised significant funds which have been donated to organisations across the country. The success of our yearly charity event is evident in the commitment and support from the Data#3 team and our vendor partners in consistently achieving our fundraising goals year on year.
“The team is thrilled with this year’s fundraising result! Our Charity Golf Day is a great event for all involved and our ability to raise $20,000 will help continue to enable the fantastic work Women’s Legal Service Queensland does within the community.”
“Women’s Legal Service is thrilled to be the recipient of funds raised at the Data#3 Charity Golf Day. Not only was the day about raising much needed funds for direct services to women who experience domestic violence and complex family law matters but it was a great opportunity to raise awareness that violence against women and their children is a community issue. We thank Data#3 very much for their support.” Rosslyn Monro – Coordinator, Women’s Legal Service.
Data#3’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy is aimed at reducing the company’s impact on the environment, supporting local community groups and creating opportunities for students to gain experience in and exposure to the IT industry.
