Data#3 Limited, one of Australia’s leading business technology solutions companies, today announced that it has raised a record $25,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation (‘Starlight’), the company’s national charity partner.
With perfect weather onside, more than 140 customers and 11 global vendor partners, enjoyed a fantastic golf day at Brisbane’s Indooroopilly Golf Course. On-course donations, raffle ticket sales and auction proceeds, produced a record total of $25,000, which will be donated to Starlight’s Wish granting program.
Data#3 Chief Executive Officer, Laurence Baynham commented “The beginning of this financial year brought with it a new direction for Data#3’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Community program, with the announcement that we had partnered with Starlight as our national charity partner,” he continued. “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, our vendors and our staff, that helped us to reach and exceed our fundraising goal for the day. Once again, we have proved that by working together, we can make a real contribution to our community.”
The money raised will help Starlight grant four Starlight Wishes by Christmas 2015. A Starlight Wish is a once- in-a-lifetime experience for not only the seriously ill child, but the whole family. Starlight Wishes help sick children and their families dream big and leave the pain of treatment behind and create wonderful memories that last a lifetime.
Each child is unique and so is each Starlight Wish. Designed to suit the specific needs of each child, Starlight Wishes range from travel wishes, hero wishes, experience wishes and gift wishes. The sky’s the limit!
Louise Baxter, Starlight CEO said “We are delighted to partner with Data#3 and we welcome their much- needed support to help Starlight deliver once-in-a-lifetime wishes to give sick kids, and their families something positive to look forward to.”
Last year Starlight granted 498 life changing wishes and this year, due to an increase in demand, will look to grant 550 wishes. Starlight receives no government funding, relying on the generosity of the community to enable the continued delivery of their programs.
