Data#3 and the Queensland floods

On Friday 14 January 2011, Data#3 Limited (ASX:DTL) wishes to advise all those associated with the business, that operations have not been significantly impacted by the current flood crisis in Queensland.

Whilst the Data#3 Head Office is located in the Brisbane suburb of Toowong, the location of the building has not been affected by floodwater and as such, Data#3 is currently able to provide key services to those organisations in immediate need.

Nationwide resources

As Data#3 operates from multiple offices, warehouse and integration facilities throughout Australia, the company will continue to fully function as normal from those locations outside of Queensland.

There are however, factors that remain outside Data#3’s control, such as telecommunications services, power supply and road closures. These factors are likely to impact services provided from within and throughout flooded areas of Queensland, however Data#3 staff will liaise with affected organisations to develop contingency plans as necessary.

Data#3 Queensland staff

Many Data#3 Queensland staff have been directly affected by the floods through property damage or restricted road access. We are doing all that we can to assist them or to assist them as they help others. As a result, those who can be available are working remotely via email and phone with access to Data#3’s central IT systems.

“The safety and well being of Data#3 staff and their families will take priority in the coming days,” says Data#3 Group General Manager, Laurence Baynham.

“Once the immediate threat subsides, attention will turn to assisting in the recovery of local communities and supporting the operations of our Queensland customers.”
