$30,000 raised for Starlight Children’s Foundation at Data#3’s 13th Charity Golf Day

Data#3, a leading Australian technology provider, today announced that it raised an amazing $30,000 for national charity partner, Starlight Children’s Foundation (Starlight)’s Queensland hospital programs.

The funds were raised at Data#3’s Annual Charity Golf Day, which took place at Brisbane’s Indooroopilly Golf Course. With temperatures reaching a balmy 29 degrees celsius, a great day of golf ensued. Despite some questionable swings, spirits were high, as all were in attendance for a great cause.

Data#3 CEO, Laurence Baynham, commented, “It’s a fantastic achievement to have reached our target. The Data#3 Charity Golf Day highlights our commitment to the community and reinforces our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). As we grow our business in size and profits, we also grow our CSR activities. I’d like to personally thank all those that participated, donated and organised. Together we have achieved something truly great – granting a chance for sick children to have something to smile about.”

“Every dollar that goes into our vital hospital programs must first be fundraised. As Starlight receives no government funding, partnerships like Data#3’s are essential in keeping the doors to our Starlight Express Rooms open. We truly appreciate Data#3’s continued support, and simply couldn’t do what we do without support like theirs,” said Starlight’s QLD State Partnerships Manager, Tracey Tomlin.

On-course donations, raffle ticket sales and auction proceeds, produced a total of $30,000, which will give over 750 seriously ill children access to Starlight’s Captain Starlight and Starlight Express Room programs in the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.

While health professionals focus on treating illness, Captain Starlight turns a sick child’s pain, fear and stress into joy, fun and laughter. Captain Starlights work within Starlight Express Rooms, which provide a treatment-free respite for sick kids and their families in all major children’s hospitals nationally.
